Benishibori Tokoname Teapot - 110ml

This exquisitely crafted hira-maru Tokoname-yaki kyusu (teapot) is made from a deep brown Tokoname clay, decorated in a benishibori (紅しぼり) pattern, emulating the natural striations of shibori-dyed Japanese textiles.

This kyusu's wider, flatter shape helps extract umami from high-grade sencha and gyokuro. It boasts a wide top opening so you can watch the leaves unfurl as they steep and clean them out more easily. Additionally, its small size is perfect for solo sencha sessions or extended gong fu brewing.

Its built-in ceramic sasame filter is perfect for naturally straining tea, with a wide shape for faster pouring and less clogging.

Made by master craftsman Umehara Jiro, a descendant of the first Gyokko, who now makes pottery under the name Gyokuryu Umehara (玉龍).
