Teacher will provide a short lesson and introduction to pottery, lightly touching on the stages of clay provided in the handout. Students will then make a bowl shaped pot on the wheel. Free \/ catch up time in which students who have missed classes can catch up, or have free time on the wheel to make what they like. Students will have the opportunity to under glaze or dip their pots into coloured glazes – or handbrush with glaze. Any pots not glazed this week will be clear glazed by factory staff. We will treat them with the utmost care. However, accidents and breakages can happen along the way. Unfortunately, this is the nature of pottery. In addition to handling, other factory may cause damage. For example, cracks can occur due to thin or overworked clay, or breakages due to very thick clay.
