Celadon Faceted Spouted Matcha Bowl

This elegant celadon spouted matcha bowl is inspired by the famous Longquan wares from Song Dynasty China, and is decorated with a faceted (面取り - mentori) design.

The soft blue-green-grey of this celadon is achieved with small amounts of iron in the glaze, which turns blue-green when fired in reduction. Where the tranluscent glaze is thin, such as over the lip of the bowl and in between the facets, the white of the underlying clay shines through.
