Set of 5 Purple Hagi-yaki Teacups - 100ml

This set of five Hagi-yaki yunomi (teacups) feature an elegant murasaki (purple) glaze, with a lighter coloured interior, which highlights the colour of the tea. The interior glaze drips attractively over the lip and down the front of the cup. Like many Hagi wares, these cups feature the characteristic 'notched foot'.

At 100ml, these cups are a perfect middle size for sencha or other teas. Cups of these size and shape are also called kumidashi (汲出) or senchawan (煎茶碗).

These cups, made by Tsubakihide Kiln (椿秀窯) come in a kiribako (桐箱 - paulownia wood box).
