Japanese Kyusu - Purple Floral Banko-yaki Nozomi Mesh Teapot - 220ml

This Banko-yaki kyusu (teapot) is made from purple clay decorated with flowers. Its nozomi swing mesh strainer keeps the tea off the bottom and is perfect for brewing even the most deeply-steamed fukamushi senchas.

Banko-yaki (萬古焼) is a type of Japanese pottery that traditionally comes from Yokkaichi in Mie Prefecture, Japan. Its characteristic purple hue comes from the mixture of red oxidised iron and blue high temperature-baked iron in the clay.
