Waist Drum

"Waist Drum" is a traditional percussion instrument common in the cultural traditions of China and other East Asian regions. It consists of a drum body and one or more long straps connected to it, usually worn at the waist. The player makes sounds by shaking the waist or hitting the drum body.

The drum body of the waist drum is usually round or oval, usually made of wood, leather, or other materials. The long strap is used to be worn at the waist of the player, allowing the player to swing the waist freely to produce drum sounds.

In performances and dances, waist drums are often used to accompany dances or rhythmic music, adding rhythm and vitality to the performance through different rhythms and movements. The player can play different sound effects by controlling the swing speed and strength of the waist.
